The GreenFacts site attracted my attention with their mission statement: "to bring complex scientific consensus reports on health and the environment to the reach of non-specialists."

and

"We publish clear and faithful summaries of existing scientific reports on environmental and health topics: GreenFacts Digests and GreenFacts Co-Publications."

I like the idea of bringing anything complex to the reach of the non-specialists, and especially if it has been summarized faithfully.

New York magazine asked four architects to dream up proposals for farming on a lot on Canal Street. I'm not sure how feasible these ideas might be, but you have to appreciate the creative vision. I found it on treehugger.
